Exemption from the accommodation tax

The City of Leipzig charges a 5 % accommodation tax (Beherbergungssteuer). It must not be charged for:

children and young people under 18
guests with a severe disability of degree 80 or more
one companion, if the disability card shows the mark “B”

Please fill in the declaration before you arrive and have the proof ready on arrival (ID card, passport or disability card). We will refund the tax share for the exempt persons.

Medical treatment in Leipzig?

We are not allowed to grant this exemption ourselves. You pay the tax first and then reclaim it from the Leipzig city treasury (Stadtkämmerei) with our invoice and a certificate from the clinic.
